A win puts us 9 points ahead of New England and possibly the Philadelphia Union and Atlanta United.
Those teams just out of the playoff spots in the Eastern Conference currently.
Which this early in May would be rather momentous considering that was our league position for all of 2016.
A loss puts us only three ahead of New England and will see about the others.
So very big. Considering that with a good plan we should succeed against New England, a team we oddly even seemed to have success against in 2016.
The Crew won 2 out of the 3 games against them that year and didn't do the same against anyone else.
Want to see:
Afful back in the starting lineup. I know he just had a child, but 2 or 3 games away seems like sort of an intense break.
Makes one wonder how much the break is associated with that and not something else?

Regardless of situation behind the scene, he's our best RB.
There's been a bit too much thinking going on overall there in 2017. As much with him as Crew SC.
Just get him back to playing instinctual.
Mensah: Thought he looked stronger again against Montreal. Fine with Crognale being a late sub for him or Naess.
Naess is excellent and Mensah is strong, has ability too. Let him grow. Crognale is a great talent too but no rush. Let him be a rookie and grow some as well (and not overnight).
I don't think those three need to be flipped every week.
Same with Raitala. If he's your starter over Francis, okay.“We have to do more than we did in the previous game.” @Jomens25 on #CrewSC's 2nd meeting with #NERevs on Sunday. pic.twitter.com/iwCIKui4wE— Columbus Crew SC (@ColumbusCrewSC) May 19, 2017
I want to get a near eleven hammered out every week. Instead of some weird start for someone (Adam Jahn?) every game.
Higuain: This article and its timing has Crewture wondering if that weird start may be in Federico's position. Berhalter has some mad scientist trick up his sleeve at times, for better or worse cannot help himself.
"He's another one who wants to play for the team, and he’s also in a great moment, so it’s kind of hard to pull him back off the field and it’s us being careful,” Crew coach Gregg Berhalter said. “I think the fact that we did rest him against Chicago gave me a little bit of relief that he doesn’t have all the minutes (spent), but it’s a situation we have to manage throughout the year.”
So perhaps could see a Higuain replacement this week, as why else would it be brought up?
And well, if Berhalter started Manneh in Higuain's position, he could start Ethan Finlay again. Which always gives Berhalter great joy. 😊
As Berhalter can't have Ethan Finlay sit for too long..
Ethan Finlay must play!
It's Berhalter's you know. Just can't seem to get past Ethan Finlay ever.
Finlay has talent but I don't know if it's in our system currently.
Result: Crew win
So, overall we've beat Kei's Revolution 2 out of 3 times last year.
If you add into that a 2-0 victory earlier this season. We've won 3 out of 4 against Kei's Revolution.
Let's make it 4 out of 5.
Think Revolution are a team with a lot more questions and problems.. And that was before our trade with them and didn't change much after our trade with them.
