2/2/17: Against Cameroon Today, Afful, Ghana 90 Minutes From An AFCON Final

Against Congo DR, Afful could've been involved in a less thrilling way.

Harrison Afful’s back header was allowed to roll towards goal by Daniel Amartey in the 7th minute of the quarterfinal and Dieumerci Mbokani of Congo sneaked in behind and rounded up goalkeeper Brimah but his attempt came off the side post.

Ghana got salvation later on with two Ayew goals (from Andre and Jordan) and are here in the semifinal vs. Cameroon.

God is great.

Overall, Harrison Afful has had a very solid tournament for Ghana this AFCON 2017.

Afful was considered by ESPN FC as part of the BEST XI of the group stages. In a list with Sadio Mane of Liverpool, who've Liverpool has missed greatly, and Kharzi of Sunderland.

One of the advantages of a MLS schedule is that it works a bit better for AFCON; as the AFCON is always tough for English teams.

Regardless not bad company.

AFCON Best Group XI

Here's a little highlight run down of Harrison in the tournament.

In the first game, have just a clip of him against Uganda in the opener, a good pass. And then put together more plays of his from that point on after each game.

Against Egypt, clips of a second Crew SC Ghanaian, Crew SC defender Jonathan Mensah are there as well.

With a win I know Afful will be the first #CrewSC player to play in an AFCON Final...

Question: Would he be the first MLS player to?

A win today at 2 PM (BeINSports, BeINsportsconnect.tv, Fubo.tv) puts them in the final against Group D winners Egypt. Second times a charm there.

Rooting for you guys here in Columbus. Good luck.
