I don't get how that's productive? Why invite 10 players to preseason with the intent to only sign one?

Might just be better to pick one and go from there.

Harrison Afful LEFT-BACK 6/10
Blocked Egyptian goal-bound effort and made a number of crucial interceptions in a game which witnessed a lot of pace and muscle flair from the record-winners. He worked well on the laterals after switching to left-back.

Jonathan Mensah CENTER-BACK 5/10
Guilty of poor organization and failing to stamp his authority against Mohamed Salah and Co. The Columbus Crew man enjoyed few moments of success in the game.

Mensah looked a bit winded near the end. Wouldn't be shocked if Grant switches back in Quarterfinal. Could be and hopefully wrong.
