11/7/09: Columbus Already Looking For Replacements? Wanting To Sign Another Kamara?

The 25 year old, midfielder Marvin Kamara has 156 appearances and 11 goals in everything from the EPL in Wimbledon's last season, to the Championship, to League One. Kamara took some time off last year to recover from knee problems and is now building himself back up with Conference National side Barrow, where he is currently on a cup run with them and finding his form. But, Kamara is looking for a switch. According to Kamara, the Columbus Crew gave him a trial last month (at the end of the season?) And, wanted to sign the 25 year old right-footed midfielder, Kamara, this January. Seems like Kamara won't be able to make the move possibly for personal reasons. But, if true, what does this mean for our midfield? It means someone is leaving. Since Kamara is right-footed seems like a straight switch for Emmanuel Ekpo. I hope that isn't true as I rather keep Ekpo around.

From The Northwest Evening Mail:
Last month [Kamara] went for a trial in the US with 2008 MLS champions Columbus Crew.

“Columbus want me to sign and go back there in January, but at the moment I don’t think I’ll go,” Kamara said. “My girlfriend is pregnant and I don’t want to relocate her or be away from her.”

He added: “I’m really enjoying my time at Barrow.

Nevertheless, maybe Kamara got the Crew confused with the Rapids as apparently he was on trial with the Rapids in October as well.

Here's Kamara scoring for superpowers Barrow about a week ago:

Not sure how I feel about us trialing players from the Conference National.
