9/11/09: Columbus Crew Stadium The Place To Be On Sunday

Heather Mitts will be there on Sunday, in my dreams she will be standing next to me in the Nordecke wearing this.

Heather Mitts, Jack Hanna, Guillermo Barros Schelotto(hopefully tooting the boot), and Pillar! The only thing that could make Sunday's entertainment at Crew Stadium better is if the game fell before Labor Day, so everyone would have Monday off. And, well, if the Nordecke had a hot body contest with Heather Mitts. How many times will I say her name in this post?! No one knows!

At Crew Stadium on Sunday, first and most importantly, there will be an excellent matchup between conference leading Columbus and Houston. Also, on the billing according to Shawn Mitchell's blog is:

*The Ohio Soccer Hall of Fame will induct 10 new members in the Huntington Club prior to the game. Among the honorees is U.S. WNT star and Cincinnati native Heather Mitts.

My thoughts: Did you say Heather Mitts? I love Heather Mitts.

*Hispanic Heritage Day (otherwise known as La Turbina Recruitment Day), with food and vendors set up on the south plaza from 3:30-5 p.m.

My thoughts: I love me some fajitas and burritos. Great stuff by the Crew, Mr. Terreros, and company to attempt to bring out more of the hispanic population to the game.

*Faith and Family Day, with a postgame concert featuring faith-based bands Pillar and This Beautiful Republic.

My thoughts: I'm not sure how it can be both Hispanic Heritage Day and Faith and Family Day. But, bands are always cool.

Pillar's version of Bloody Sunday-

And Frontlines.

*Jack Hanna and his animal posse, fresh off an appearance on Letterman earlier tonight, will also be on the plaza for pregame.

My thoughts: Jack Hanna makes loving animals cool. Seriously, the guy is like an animal mack daddy.

Overall, kudos to the front office for making it a full day of entertainment that I could see a lot of Columbusite's having an interest in. Should be a pretty healthy crowd and walk up. The game starts at 5 p.m. on Sunday at Crew Stadium, come out around 2 p.m. to tailgate, get some burritos, and check out some animals with Jack Hanna.
