5/5/09: Crew Beat OSU 3-1 At Connor Senn Match, Hejduk and Hesmer Back

Player of the match: Steven Lenhart. Doesn't matter who he is playing, he gave it his all tonight. Even came back to midfield at one point in the game and stole the ball from a OSU attacker. Just didn't matter to him if it's TFC away or OSU in a friendly. Deserved a couple of goals.

Ekpo(left) has two goals in two games now, Nyazamba (middle) played as well.

The Crew broke a 1-1 tie with goals from Emmanuel Ekpo and Pat Noonan in the second half to go on to a 3-1 win. Emmanuel Ekpo tallied the game winner in the 62nd minute, another impressive strike as Ekpo continues his good form from the weekend up in Toronto. While Pat Noonan, putting his wide open shot against Toronto behind him and a hit post 10 minutes prior against OSU, scored with a nice strike in the 75th minute.

The best news of the day however was Frankie Hejduk, as the captain stepped onto the field in the second half to get ready for his comeback from a hamstring against Kansas City. Reports have stated that Hesmer will also be back for Kansas City on the weekend. Moffat should be back for Los Angeles away.

Attendance: Didn't see anything official, but my guess would be around 5,000.

Kind of cool: Memorbilia to bid on and to be raffled for the Connor Senn match included a signed Tim Howard US National team jersey. And, quite oddly a signed Jon Busch jersey, which led to a couple boo's when announced on the PA system.
