4/9/09: Ohio Stadium Contacted As Possible FIFA World Cup Venue

Ohio Stadium, along with Cleveland Browns Stadium and Paul Brown Stadium, have been contacted.

According to U.S. Soccer, Ohio Stadium where the Buckeyes play in Columbus, Ohio has been contacted by U.S. Soccer along with 69 other U.S. stadia's as possible venue's for a 2018 or 2022 World Cup bid.

I think it would be interesting to see some stadiums still under construction get selected, like the new Meadowlands Stadium, the new Dallas Cowboys Stadium and the University of Minnesota’s TCF Bank Stadium. Also, got to think University of Phoenix Stadium would be a favorite.

I doubt that Ohio Stadium gets it because of all the nice facilities out there. But, also Cleveland Browns Stadium and Paul Brown Stadium are in the running. I watched USA vs. Venezuela at Cleveland Browns Stadium in front of I believe 28,000. It was a great venue. So, we'll wait and see.
