3/16/09: Seattlis Optimus Maximus

I guess this Seattle journo* is unaware that new cars stall in MLS. *Fancy Green Street reference counts as five blog points on twitter. No doubt Sigi and Seattle might do better then Toronto, Chivas, or Real Salt Lake has in their inaugural campaigns but check out this over optimistic preview as soon as Seattle hits Columbus:

Columbus W

at Chivas USA D

San Jose W

D.C. United W

at New York D

Colorado W

Houston W

Chicago D

at San Jose D

at Real Salt Lake L

(6 home, 4 away)

(5 wins, 4 draws, 1 loss)

Really? The first preview of the first third of the season is a little more reasonable (3 wins, 2 ties, and 5 losses) but still rather over optimistic since it took Chivas like half the year to tie somebody and Toronto forever to score a goal.

And, before everyone gets all 30 comments on me. I said in the "Massive Radio" podcast to the right that I think Seattle will win. Blake and Jericho are the real perps as they picked New York. And, I hope they win as home teams scoring on ESPN is generally more exciting unless that road team is the Crew.

Btw, I get how MLS-Rumors may become the Seattle Times. But, why the heck is there a Seattle Soccer Examiner on a Cleveland website? Baffling, maybe it's the Drew Carey connection (still a random reason to waste all day writing soccer articles)? Chalk it up with the various Crewfighter "do not gets."

Anyways, Seattle wins 2-1. Goals by Montero and Jaqua, and it's always a safe bet that Angel finds his way on the scoresheet for New York.
