1/14/08: Crew Likely To Go Attacking With First Pick

Kwame Adjeman-Pamboe

According to Ives, the Crew appear to be looking for even more attacking depth as they are slated to go with a speedy runner named Kwame Adjeman-Pamboe from George Mason University with the 30th pick. Here is Pamboe's college bio. Pamboe played high school soccer in Maryland, so Kwame is an American citizen I believe and he wouldn't count against the International roster.

Here is Buzz Carrick's perception of Kwame Adjeman-Pamboe, ranked by him as the 9th best attacking player:
Kwame Adjeman-Pamboe George Mason Sr 5′8″ 155 A real speedy runner at the forward spot. He hit the best two crosses of the whole combine with his left foot. I like him as a possible wide midfielder even though he didn’t play there. JJ, as he is called, led GMU in scoring this year and ranks in the top 10 in the Colonial Athletic Association in goals (9), assists (7) and points (25). Named the Most Outstanding Performer at the Colonial Athletic Association Soccer Championship with 4 goals and an assist in the GMU title run. Started his career at St Francis before transferring to GMU.

Sometimes these pre-draft predictions can be a little off, if it's not Pamboe it's likely(if the Crew are definitely going attacking) to be one of a couple others:
Also being slated at 28th by Ives to go to Chicago is another attacking option in Quincy Amarikwa from UC Davis(with similiar height and build as Pamboe, but less quickness). Carrick says that Amarikwa reminds him of a Carlos Ruiz, hopefully without the tude'. I'm assuming that Ives knows that the Crew are looking for attacking first in the draft(makes sense since the Crew put 6 out of their 10 foreign discoveries on defenders). I'm betting the Crew with where they are slated either end up with Pamboe or Amarikwa or Brad Peters.

Here's a video on Amarikwa:

Other possibility, especially if the Crew are looking for speed and Pamboe gets snatched up is:

Brad Peters- Who has scored a bucket load of goals at Eastern Illinois at 33 over his career. Peters has won a state track and field title in high school, shows that Peters has athleticism, speed, and endurance. Seems to me like a more speedy Lenhart of this draft.
